I honestly wouldn't. You need to get Protein in and with the master cleanse your not getting anything substantial. Also the sugar in the maple Syrup may not agree with you. If you really must do it I wouldn't do it for the full week. Try it for a day and see where you are. I did it several years ago for 3 day intervals. I wouldn't do more then that. Just my opinion.

Question: what's the master cleanse?

It's basically a juice fast done for anywhere from 3 to 10 days. You drink a mixture of lemon juice Water, cayenne pepper and grade B maple Syrup and that's it. Sometimes a laxative tea or salt Water solution. It's done a lot for weight loss but also to detox the body. I wouldn't do it now post op but I did it a few times years ago when I was willing to try anything to weight loss.

Oh wow that sounds hard!!!

Thanks for the link :)

I don't think my sleeve would survive the lemon or cayenne pepper lol

Just my opinion, but I don't think it would do any harm to do it for 3-5days. I also don't think it would benefit you either.

If you do choose to do it keep it short. And get back to your Proteins ASAP. Also take it slow, your body might not react well to the sugars.

Furthermore, if you are considering this as a weightloss aid, I'd say you'd be much better off working the tool you already have to its max potential.

What's the purpose? Why would you want to do a master cleanse? I think you already know the answer to your question.

Well there are several purposes not all are weight loss. A lot of people do it to cleanse the system or to detox your body so you can start fresh. Though I don't know the motivation behind the OP. I've known people who had no intent on weight loss do this regularly. A friend of mine was all of 130lbs and would do it to flush the bad things he had eaten out of his system.

I was really directing my question to the OP. From what I have read the master cleanse is not a very healthy fast. I'm trying to find out if the OP is trying to jump start her weight loss or just wants to try the fast. Seems like the wrong thing to do for someone less than even 6 months post op. But that's my opinion.

I'm not wanting to do it for weightless. Since the surgery I have really got into exercise and health food. I'm thinking about doing it to cleanse my body.

Thank you fallenangel for explaining the cleanse. I think the average person associates it with weigh loss not with the cleansing/detox.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
