I stay cold, I wear a sweater in my house, if i get the house warm enough to take my sweater off then my husband and daughter are sweating. My doctor said after my weight stablizes it shouldn't be as bad, but I am losing a lot of the fat that used to keep me insulated.

Hey Sara, I was sleeved July 24, 2012 and I'm down 59 lbs and I'm always cold. One of my coworkers had the surgery three months ago and she said she gets cold easily.

Yes. I'm cold all the time now since the surgery. Kinda weird I know I don't have as much body fat as I used to but I'm still colder than the skinner girls around me.

I have the opposite. I live in a sub tropical climate in Queensland Australia and the heat in summer would take the wind out of my sails. Not this year :)

I believe being cold all the time is also a sign of Iron deficiency anemia. I'm going to set up an appt with my doctor to check my iron levels.

My surgery was June 18, 2012 and I'm down 103 lbs, but if I make it thru this winter without freezing to death it will be a freekin miracle! I was always the one sweating in the dead of winter but not anymore, my family is still saying they can't believe I want the heat on. Always dreaded summers in Mississippi, but not this year - HURRY UP SUMMER!!!

Yes I think when you lose weight your body's not use to it and you get cold. When we are heavier I think we never get cold lol

There is evidence that grhelin, or however it's spelled, is in part responsible for the regulatioin of body temperature. Well, we don't have nearly as much of that stuff as we used to have.

I was as hot as heck all the time pre-surgery. But I was immediately freezing to death after surgery, painfully so. I could not get warm, particularly in bed for some strange reason. I thought that would just be a price I had to pay. And it went on and on for months. I had to pile blankets high on my bed, and still I couldn't go to sleep I was so cold, for about the first two hours of the night.

Now, 10 months out, that is starting to level out some. I am still cold when I go to bed, but not nearly as much, and it subsides within a few minutes. Thank goodness.

Others may have different stories, but I think my cold issue is getting much better.

I was just wondering yesterday if it is related to an increased carb intake now that I'm at goal.

I had my sleeve 12/21 now that you mention it, I did notice my feet getting too cold, and didn't seem to warm up to quickly even with a blanket on them, I thought I was going crazy!

Lol BLB yes that was the first thing that happend to me ..feet got smaller (don't need wide shoes anymore) and froze!!! Then now losing 125 ish pounds my body is a popcicle and the cold of minnesota don't help me here...buy some warm sweaters for spring would be my advice (make sure there a size or 2 smaller the you are now if u buy them early!) I didn't know feet had fat and feet fat is the first to go!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
