I'm in the UK! So' date=' probably not an option...lol! Good luck with your research.[/quote']

For some reason I thought you were in Australia. Everytime I read one of your posts I played it with my best Aussie accent in my head. Damn...oh well, now it will just be an English accent.

My hubby is English and he has picked up a bit of a Welsh twang!

Hello Coops! I'm so happy for you! I'm doing great and thanks for asking! I think my recovery has taken longer than the average. I can finally stand completely straight without feeling any muscle tugging on the inside. I love putting on jeans, pants AND swimming suit bottoms and seeing a straight tummy with no bulges!!! How are you doing now that it's been a couple of weeks since you had your TT? Isn't it fabulous not to have that belly roll?!!!!!!! I will be scheduling a consult for a BL with new implants and AL. Will be having those surgeries done as soon as possible to try to beat the worst heat of the summer here in Texas. Then in Dec. I'll be scheduling to have a TL in January. Hope this finds you doing well with little pain!

Hey frumpynomore,

Soooo pleased you are well and getting the benefits- you're nearly 3mths post op now? And check you out in those jeans and swim wear! How long did it take for the swelling to go down? I'm still really swollen in the tummy, just above the waist, gets worse in the evening, but I'm only 11 days out so I'm hoping this will get better.

I've been too scared to put 'normal' clothes on, still in leggings and joggers!

Oh, and look at your to do list...lol... I would love an arm lift, but it ain't gonna happen, I've spent enough on this body and can't justify anymore! The belly was my biggest problem and I'm so pleased that its gone!

Thanks for the update... Keep us informed!

So frumpymore and Coops, after the procedure was done, how much weight came off? I know that frumpymore looks extra HOT and SEXY and I'm waiting to see Coops! I'm so happy for you and know that these were great choices to make...... Love the results! :)

Coops, the swelling stayed for about 4 weeks. You are going to LOVE the final results! Occasionally, I look at my before TT pics and then I REALLY appreciate the results! It's funny how soon and easy it is to forget where we came from (i.e.: overweight, loose skin). I'm going to make it a monthly action to view my before VSG and TT pics to remind me to appreciate where I've been and what it took to get from there to here and what I look like now versus then. I believe it's human nature to take important things for granted and I don't want to ever lose sight of where I've been. I don't want to "forget" the tears, struggle, embarrassment, loneliness, and pain so that I will always and forever appreciate what I have. The road has been a long one and my journey is still not complete BUT it will be soon!

Hi Ms Skinniness! WoW! Thanks for the compliment! A year and a half ago I would never have dreamed that someone would be calling me SEXY and HOT!!! OMG! Thank you!!!!!!! I only lost 3 lbs total. I actually started putting on weight near the end of the 3 weeks recovery from my TT. I am still battling getting the weight off that I put on but with some new supplements, Glutamine-Butterthebean recommended, and watching the carbs at night I'm finally seeing the numbers drop again. It's all about keeping it in check!

Where did you have your surgery if you don't mind me asking? Cost?

I had my TT done in Roundrock, TX which is just outside of Austin. Dr. Troy Thompson was my surgeon and I absolutely love him! He will be doing all my other cosmetic surgeries as well. The TT cost was right at $6k but the cost is determined by each individual's needs. I had 4 consults for my TT and Dr. Thompson was right in the same realm of costs as the others quoted. I am very happy with my results!

The costs are not bad at all. i also believe that we will be fluctuating in weight from here on in and losing 3 lbs from removing the excess skin is fantastic.......Heck I went to Las Vegas and I am up 3 lbs too. Did a lot of walking also and got dehydrated. So I'm just waiting to get back to my norm now..... :)

Yes, I believe you are right Ms Skinniness! I should be very thankful that I lost 3lbs! Just wish I hadn't gained 5 more! It's o.k. though because I'm back on track with my eating and will soon be back where I was. I thought the cost for my TT was very reasonable too. I can't wait to get the quote and to set a date to have the rest of the cosmetic surgeries that I want done!

Frumpynomore I really hate the word should....it's so defeating to us....I already see and know that you are so thankful that you lost 3 lbs! Great job.....I believe that we are going to be extra aware and monitor our losses and gaines and get back in perspective really quickly bc we love our beautiful bodies today...... I am working towards getting a face lift and perhaps a TT in the near future even if I have to finance it...... :)

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
