All of my December sleevers...

Recommended Posts

Aaron we are surgery buddies, I was sleeved on the same date. Sometimes I have head hunger, so I eat some dense Protein (chicken, turkey or cheese) and then I am stuffed for awhile. Make sure you don't drink for at least 45 minutes after you eat, it keeps you full longer and keeps you from snacking later.

Just had my 6 week check up last week. My doctor and nut are not concerned with rate of loss. Sleeved 12/17 and down 30 lbs. They want me to get 60 g of Protein and 64 oz of Water. I asked what to expect in lbs lost per week. They said it was so variable that they don't predict other than to say that by 6 months it is usually 60 to 80 lbs. Sounds good to me!

Well I am glad they are not concern rate of loss . Now I do need to increase my protein as well !

Keep up the good work !

Sleeved 12-26

Weight surgery day 341

Today: 306

Having trouble with meal plans :/ getting hungry anyone have this problem ?

Hi Aaron,

I know they want us to stick to 3 meals and 2 Snacks a day but since I have transitioned to real food I find it difficult to get enough calories in with 3 main meals. I cannot eat enough at one time to keep my calories up eating 3x so I kind of eat basically 5 small meals.... stuff like a couple ounces of chicken (I dip it in a dressing made with Greek yogurt), a couple ounces of fish and veggie, a couple ounces of shrimp with a tiny salad, scrambled egg whites, a Babybell Light cheese round. It also helps to keep from getting hungry.

My usual menu at almost 7 weeks out:

Breakfast: Premier Protein shake

Lunch: Lean deli meat 2-3 oz with a cheese stick, or tuna or chicken salad with little bit of miracle whip, or small amount of shredded lettuce with chicken chunks and egg and small amt Salad Dressing (1-2tsp, full fat!!) Sometimes have 2 oz canned fruit.< /p>

Dinner: 2-3 oz meat such as chicen breast, pork, chicken patty, with 1/4 c vegetable or mashed potatoes.

Snack: Don't always eat this, but if I do it depends on my calorie and Protein intake for the day. Might be sugar free low fat pudding or a cheese stick.

I try to stay around 500-700 calories a day, get 65-75 gm protein and 64 oz of Fluid. My program does not require any carb restrictions, just stick to the basic rules of eating. Met with my NUT this week, she's good with progress and meeting requirements.

My stats are in my signature line.

Yep. And it's a lot more than head hunger. My stomach often feels empty and achy only an hour or so after I eat now. It's kind of a gnawing feeling. This only started around 6 weeks out but seems worse each day. I don't know if its acid but I chose not to discontinue my Prevacid because of it. I really don't like it at all. I miss that first month with no hunger.

I had this exact thing... it was a deep gnawing type emptiness. It felt like very much like hunger and I was kind of surprised. But after doing a little digging for info I realized that it was acid. I also worried that I had developed an ulcer because I took 3 Advil on an empty stomach two days in a row ( I have a torn ACL that causes swelling and pain) without even thinking about the surgery. That empty feeling started right after that... anyway, I was already on Prevacid 2x day and I added 1 Zantac in the evening (info I found). It helped and for the most part the symptoms are gone. But it was pretty miserable for a while...

And by the way, that empty gnawing feeling started about 4 weeks after surgery...

Everyone loses wait at different rate

Ok, I just wrote that to make myself feel better after reading everyone's rate. I had a minute of self pity, but it's past. I'm just happy I'm sleeved without complications and well on my way to a healthy life.

Where did you get it? Online or do they have it at bookstore? That sounds awesome!

I found it at books a million. But Amazon has it online

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
