food/exercise journals and weekly charted weigh ins at pcp? Anyone?

Recommended Posts

This is what Im required to do as well as have a pulmonary function test, a cardiac stress test with ecg, a psych eval, a physical by pc with full blood panels, and nutritionist clearance before submission to blue shield of ca for approval. My BMI is 43. The nurse at my pcp said "she hasn't seen her other prospective wls patients do as much as I've had to do.

Let me add the weigh ins are for 6 months. The last time i went to my doctor he was completely exasperated and said "how much longer are we going ti have to play this game?" that was my 5 month visit.

Wow, that's pretty extensive requirements! All I had to do was have six forms filled out based on visiting a nutritionist or PCP at least 30 days apart. It covered my weight, diet and exercise plan. Sounds like you're almost at the end of the ordeal? Hope everything turns out okay.

Lmao!! Yeah I am getting the same attitude from my doc too. He and his staff think this 6 month thing is sooooo stupid and it wastes so much valuable time:(

I was only required to do 3 month weighin and dietary session. As you see in my signature I had to do a lot too. I also had to do a food diary and excerise log. Some programs require it, some insurance require it. I sounds like its a big waste of time but over all its a good thing. At least for me it was, it allowed me time to train myself on eating right, while preparing me mentally. It will all work out for you

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
