Canadian November Bandsters

Recommended Posts

It is almost November, which will be always known to me as the month of the BIG change. I start my pre-op diet on the 15th and have surgery on the 29th. Any advice to get through the pre-op diet is welcome!

I would really like to hear from any and all Canadians who are being banded in November and December. There don't seem to be many newbies on the Canadian thread. I look forward to hearing from anyone!!

I also hope to get lots of support from everyone out there, as I have been afraid to tell anyone what I am doing. I have only told hubby, kids and one sister. I don't feel like trying to justify myself or my expenditure to anyone. I know I am worth it and that is what is important.

Hey Nancy, congrats on your date! Dr. Cobourn, right?

I'm sure there are some other Nov/Dec newbies around here in the Canadian area. Maybe lurkers? There's plenty of other people who are fairly new anyways (banded in the last couple months), and more will come along too... so no worries. :)

Just booked the date today for Nov. 20th. :clap2: I've done the same as you re telling anyone...only my hubby and my sister know at the moment, and my family doc. Hi Nancy,

I will be banded on Nov. 23rd.... I wish you lots of luck...I'm still nervous, but I'm just thinking of how great I will start to feel.

My hubby is having his band put in as well on Nov. 16th...

Let us know how you are doing.

Doriana.

Plan on checking in every day once you start your pre-op. It really helps to get extra support during that time. It's not horrible, but some days can be rough!!! Good Luck!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
