Do/did you exercise?

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved on 12/13. Feeling good, not sure I'm eating enough but want to start exercising. Do you exercise? To those who have met goal, did you? How often?

P.s. weight: pre opt diet 221

Surgery day 215

This morning 204.

My doc said to walk at least a mile a day starting two weeks before surgery and everyday afterwards. He insisted that we walk a mile as soon as we could and kept a chart in our rooms to mark the number of laps around the hospital floor. I just got off the treadmill and went about half a mile but I got dizzy so I stopped. Maybe too much considering the number of calories I'm taking in? I was sleeved on the 18th.

I will try a little more each day.

I would, at the very least, try to walk an hour 3 days out of the week. If you can, try light weights on the days you don't walk. This is a lifetime condition so take it on your own pace but do try maintain some sort of routine.

I started exercising a week out going for long walks. Now at 6 weeks out I run and play tennis and do some strengthening exercises also at least 5 days a week.

I was told to walk at least 30 minutes a day, but wasn't given a distance. I used my neighbor's treadmill yesterday and walked almost 3/4 of a mile in 30 minutes. I was dizzy getting off, which surprised me because I could do 2 miles in 30 minutes before surgery. I'm just going to take it slow, until I see my doc on jan 2nd. I was sleeved one day before you... The 17th.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
