I have fallen off my diet after doing it for three weeks. I go to the doctor tomorrow and I'm afraid of what few will say. I do exercise daily and I watch what I eat but I didn't go by his strict rules =( anyone have this problem

Have you asked yourself why you didn't follow the rules set by your surgeon?

Yes, preop diet is torture and difficult. But it was explained to me that if I couldn't make drastic changes prior to surgery how would I handle those changes after surgery?

So, come clean with your doctor and do what you need to do. Don't beat yourself up. Tomorrow is a new day.

VSG is worth all the trouble to get to goal. I love my sleeve and have no regrets.

Having a lot of relationship and financial issues and that's why I fell off. I'm scared they aren't going to let me have the surgery

Just be honest. If they deny your surgery date, there's always another day! Keep your head up.

I slipped a couple times pre-op we are human!! I know personally the liquid diet or any diet prior to surgery was TERRIBLE!! You still have that ungodly feeling of hunger snd knowing you can eat it etc after surgery its so much easier to follow the rules and you do alot better with doing what you're suppose to...I wouldn't lie but I wouldn't go out of your way to tell all the details you are trying and working on it which I feel matters most!! Good luck, I hope it all works out!!

Just remember why you are having the surgery. We need a tool that can help us adhere to a diet and the sleeve does that. Otherwise why would I or anyone else get it? If we could just do a pre op diet why would we have surgery? Let's get this sleeve party started!! See you on the losers bench!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
