4.5 month post op before and after pics

Recommended Posts

I have lost 85 lbs from my highest weight of 302. I am now 217. I went from a size 22-24 to 14-16. I feel so much better mentally and physically. I started training for a 5K run last week. It is going to be at the end of January. I am very excited. I have had a lot of support from you folks on this forum and I'd like to thank you. I have 40 lbs to goal. I will be hanging around here for a while longer.

That's fantastic about the 5k!!! My goal is to be able to run one next October. I did that particular race in 2011 and completed it in 46 tubba lubba minutes. It was really hard to do but I wanted to try and get into running. I obviously didn't keep up with it. It's so hard carrying all this weight and running. I told my physically fit sister who runs 5ks often to imagine herself running and carrying both of her boys (5 and 9 yr olds).

85 lbs is fantastic! You'll definitely lose that 40 you're trying to get rid of by running. You look phenomenal too!! Just showed my husband your before and afters and he said "wow she clearly works out!!"

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
