your body probably just grabbed those extra calories and stored them . . its a survival mechanism you were starving your self and when you started putting stuff back into your body reacts by storing them in case you start starving again.

don't panic !

easier said then done i know but your still recovering concentrate on that put away the scales

I'm the same way but I gained 5 pounds. I was feeling weak and started normal foods already I went back down 5 and I have not lost a pound and on top of that is my time of the month so I'm not going down any time soon. but don't get discouraged our bodies need to adjust to all these changes once it kicks in we'll be fine.

we just went through a mayor surgery our bodies are healing don't feel bad give your body time to heal and soon enough we will be shedding the pounds lol.

I stalled and didn't lose anything for 3 weeks than all of a sudden I lost 7 pounds. I also noticed when it close to that time of the month I will gain a few pounds and than lose that plus the next week. Don't worry about it....you will do great.

Thanks guys...i just wanted to cry when i got on the scale. Im so hungry for real food but im afraid to eat anything. im on purees this week but i cant hardly handle most pureed food...i cant do the texture of pureed chicken made me want to puke. Ive been eating cream Soups and mashed potatoes and pureed refried beans...they brought some of those bite sized broccolli and egg quiche to work and i had one for Breakfast 2 days in a row...flaked most the crust off so seriously how much could be in one of those. I cant wait to get to real food. Is anyone here on My Fitness Pal that keeps the food diary on there. I just joined but would love to see what people eat.

How about cottage cheese, soft fish(tuna), egg(finely ground up), canned meats(chicken, corned beef). You need to get some Protein in too.

My siggy only shows my losses but if I were to chart everyday it would look like a heartbeat. I would lose 5 bounce up 3, stall, lose 5 bounce up 3.... Don't fret.

This is what I eat in a typical day:

Breakfast- Cottage cheese or a scrambled egg with cheese.

Lunch-Turkey & Cheese Roll ups....I can probably eat 2 now and I am 2 months out.

Dinner-Baked Boneless chicken Breast, Broiled Fish or Seafood, a few bites of a soft veggie....

In between I try to eat a greek yogurt that is high in Protein. I will also eat a hard boiled egg in the afternoon between lunch and dinner. If I haven't gotten all of my protein in I will have a shake or an Atkins Advantage Bar....the bars are really good and low in Carbs and Sugar. I drink crystal light all day long...as much as I can. I don't get in the full 64 ounces but I sure do try...lol

If you were dehydrated, which it sounds like you were, then your body is going to hold onto Water where ever it can. But water weight is not a problem. Fat loss is your goal and I think you know that there is no way you gained 3 pounds of fat. That would be 10,500 additional calories on top of what you burned just being alive. You know you didn't take in that amount of calories so you need not worry about this little hiccup. The scale can be a finicky mistress.

You really need the Protein. I'm surprised your NUT would recommend cream Soups. Have you tried Reduced-Fat Peanut Butter? When I started on mushy food sthat was one of m options and I could have 2TBSP's red. fat PB. It was much more tolerable, for me, than chicken, etc.

I think the light-headed issues are dehydration. Water, Water, water!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
