Any Ladies Have Lighter Menstrul Cycles After Vsg?

Recommended Posts

I am one mont post op and had my period when I had surgery. I started again a few days ago but it is very light--so light that I don't know what day to call day one, but have been spotting for 3 days. I have read that most have heavier periods after VSG...

Anyone have lighter?

My surgery was on 9/27/12 and mine is back like clock work and did not skip a beat. I started a few days after surgery, right on time, on October 4th, it was quite a bit lighter, but the next month....my gracious everything was back in full swing and back with a vengeance. I WISH mine was lighter and less crampy. I felt like the surgery made no difference in that aspect. I still get salty and sweet cravings too. This month was weird though, I was actually craving meat, even though I had plenty of Protein LOL :)

I wonder since the surgery caused me to start early that its thrown me off. Dec. 5th I'll be a exactly 30 days post op.

I started spotting on schedule after my surgery but spotted for 4 days which is unusual. I'm 3 months out now and find from 4 to 5 days to 3 to 4 days. Which is totally fine in my book!

I started my cycle one week post op and it was normal so we will see how it goes next month won't hurt my feelings if it doesn't come or it's light that would be a plus

I came on my period a week earlier than schedule (post vsg). It was much lighter than usual.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
