5 Weeks Postop

Recommended Posts

All I think about is food. Eating it, cooking it. Im having a really rough withdrawal. I really want a sandwich. I miss bread so much. I think my cravings are what make me constantly look at recipes trying to find something to satisfy me. I'm always hungry. Anyone share the same? Or am I just programmed wrong?

Are you getting enough protien? How are your eating habits? Are you eating 4-5 small meals a day and a couple of small Snacks. At 5 weeks I think you should be doing just fine. Sounds like you might just need to make a couple of adjustments.

It is not easy ...its so hard for me cause i have 4 kids and constantly cook all the good stuff but its not easy! Hang in there. I miss sandwiches too! I am Italian so i miss my bread but it is mind over matter ..i feel the same way you are not alone!

I find if I eat solid food' date=' "chicken or beef" for example. I get full really fast. I try to stay away from Soups or liquid food that goes straight through me. I hope this helps![/quote']

I'm three months out so that may not help you yet but it will:)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
