Did anyone have their surgery performed by Dr Hugh Houston at Centennial? I would like to hear your experiences with him and how everything went for you.

Dr. Houston did my surgery Oct. 29, 2012. He is rather abrupt & not a very joking man. I work in the medical field & knew going in that most surgeons can have difficult attitudes. He was about what I expected. But my thoughts were, he can have any kind of attitude that he wants as long as he brings me out of it alive!! A little over a month out, 20+ lbs lost & no complications whatsoever. I would highly recommend him hope this helps. Good luck!!

Thank you! How long did he keep you in the hospital?

He went in with intentions of keeping me longer than normal, because I live @2.5 hrs away...but...I was doing so great I went home early I went in on a Monday & was home on Wednesday. I work at a different hospital, but I would highly recommend the women's hospital at centennial over just about any other!! All of the people are wonderful!!

Well I live just down the road so I wonder how long he will keep me! Did it take you long to schedule your surgery (as in, did he have a long waiting list? I completed the online seminar today and the health questionnaire, so now I guess I am waiting for them to call me back! I hope to do it in January.

I think the normal stay time is 2-3 days & hospitals are weird, they count days by the number of nights you stay. I "think" Dr. Houston's surgeries are usually scheduled at least a month out. It all depends on what kind of hoops your insurance co requires. I lucked up. I had to have the surgery consult, psych eval, & nutritional eval..all for ins req. Dr. Houston just wanted me to lose as much weight as possible prior. My work was a pain in the butt about letting me have time off as well. All my pre surg apts were done June-July & surgery scheduled Oct. 29.

How long does he require the pre op liquid diet?
