How many days off did you need prior to returning to full time employment? I want to take off as much as I really need, but can't afford to take off more.

You guys are awesome!

:D

Winner I went back to work after two weeks and am glad I took that much time off, but I remember thinking on the 10th day out that I could definitely have gone to work that day.

Good luck!

I am a stay at home mom now but was working as a body piercer when I had surgery. It was a light duty job but I took 5 days off. I wanted to make sure that my incisions were fully closed before returning to a place where blood and stuff was being exposed. ~Mandy

I'm a teacher with light duty work. I took off 1 1/2 days!!! I had surgery on Tuesday and went back on Thursday at lunch. I was very tired and weak but I was there. I needed to save my days. I don't have alot left. By Monday I felt great!

I took off two weeks total. My job is strenuous and alot of bending and lifting. That is all I could afford to miss...my co-workers assisted me as much as possible which really helped. I am a widow, so I "had" to go back to work as soon as possible.

I am taking one week off. That is how much paid time off I have, and it seems to be a perfect amount of time for me as far as my healing has been going. I will return to work this Thursday!

I had surgery on Friday and returned to work on Tuesday. Flying was worse than surgery as my flight didn't get until midnight on sunday night and I just wanted to sleep in. My job is a desk job. Good luck to you!

I had surgery on a Friday and went back to work 10 days later (a Monday). It was plenty for me and I could have probably gone back to my desk job after 5 days or so.

I had my surgery on Monday and returned on Monday..........2 weeks later.

I'm so glad I took the full 2 weeks. The first week I was sore and full of that laparascopic gas. OUCH! I don't think I could have concentrated on my work, let alone tried to do anything physical. Although each day seemed to get a little better.

The 2nd week I probably could have returned to work if IF I HAD TO, but I didn't. So, I concentrated on healing and getting to know my new friend

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
