Well, let's see... My surgery was scheduled For 11:15 AM, But had to be there at 9:15 so I got there about around 838. My surgeon had a revision from lap to sleeve and it turned out to complicated. Needless to say. I did not haven surgery until 6pm. When I woke up. My throat was on fire!!!! I was not a happy camper. Barely felt any pain my stomach. I was released yesterday. Belly and throat still tender. Trying to get down fluids. How was yours?

Hi! I'm Kim, 42y/o. I had my VSG on Feb 4th. Today marks one week! Day of surgery I weighed 308 (I lost 150 pounds pre-op). Weighed in today at 295! Whoohooo! I have followed my diet plan and made sure to get in all my supplements, vitamins, and protien. I feel good, and I'm walking over an hour each day. I think losing weight before surgery has helped me immensely! Trying to enjoy my decaf coffee is my biggest struggle...and the lovenox blood thinner shots! I hate those! Here's to all of you working it! Congrats! :)

Wow. Hope your throat feels better... i had to be there @ 5 30am. Was taken back to periop area at 535am. Wheeled back to OR at 730. Meds given but surgery was not started until 9àm. So i was on the table comatose for.an hour. I woke up uncomfortable and vomiting. They hadnt given me the anti nausea meds yet. Throat was groggy but not sore. I was talking and laughing in no time. Finally got a room around 5pm that evening. Woke up

Walked on and off. Still had vimiting issues so they said no liquids for 2 days. Which means no liquids until yesterday after 11am. Like you i am having trohble.getting them down but im trying. I am trying to get some warm liquids down this morning. Finally am able to pass gas (thank you lord!) It has been trapped in my abdomen for days. Heating pad has been my friend but my couch has not been. Still uncomfortable but working towards a new goal everyday

My surgeon scheduled my surgery with my 2nd dietary appt. I got nervous Friday and called the insurance only to find I was approved. The dr's office hasn't called to tell me yet.

Call the insurance to see the status.

anyone post op been foaming? I swear I'm spitting all the time because I simply can't keep swallowing the foamy spit. I assume this is normal. If and when does it go away?

Juny trying increasing your water. Also try to have something hot/warm to drink first thing in the morning and then again prior to bedtime, this should help with that. The Dr I went to they give each gastric patient a binder called the Patient Handbook for Gastric Surgeries and just about every question that has been asked in this forum has been in that book, it is awesome tool to have and so grateful for it. Started rereading it again last night.
