Why Protein?

Recommended Posts

I know that Protein rebuilds the muscle from loosing weight but why is it important to get in 40-60 grams of protein a day to assist weight loss?

From what I understand, we need the Protein to prevent muscle loss- so we lose fat instead of muscle. Hope this helps.

Think about what muscle is in your body...your heart is muscle. You need it to regain stregnth, to keep your muscles, including your heart, healthy, and if you do that, your healthy body will burn fat instead of trying to survive off of it.

You're taking in far less calories daily, the Protein is where your body will get energy from. Simply put, without sufficient protein you can feel weak, have headaches and not really function well. So, if the majority of your calories are coming from protein, you'll have enough to live on and still lose weight.

Protein has a direct link to lowering insulin & insulin resistance. High protein diets have also been linked to weight loss of belly fat, along with increased memory, stamina, body self-repair, etc etc etc.... I'd guess that's at least a partial reason why.

Having another blah food day today.  My lunch has been sitting here with me for almost two hours and all I've managed to eat was maybe 1/2 oz of grilled chicken and 2 cucumber slices.  Eff it, I'm done.

This video is an excerpt from the same, larger video. In this video, I pull out only the Food Addiction portion. Its such an important revelation for me and it may help someone else, thus I think it warrants its own video. 🙂
