My date is Dec 4!!!! I have finished Christmas shopping. Planning to have clean house/car so nothing to do when get home. It's all about me! I used to look forward to lounging around with good book, favorite food and my beloved Diet Coke. Lol. I will have to have new plans.... sleep maybe? After the noisy hospital.

My date is Dec. 14th. I'm terrified and excited all at the same time. I hate surgery, but this so feels like a great decision for me. To prepare, I've been trying to stock up on these foods we're supposed to be eating post-op and incorporating them into my diet now. My surgeon only requires a 2 week pre-op diet but I had friends who had to start earlier, so I figure what's the harm. Spending time with family, salsa dancing, and hanging out with friends mostly

I absolutely dread cleaning but have been slowly tugging through it as the week goes by. Also gonna get a car wash and wash all my clothes. I hate dirty clothes going into the new year let alone a surgery on top of that!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
