I have decided I want to get the gastric sleeve procedure sometime in the spring and I am looking at surgeons. Dr. Huacuz was recommended to me. Anyone have any feedback on him? Thanks.

I never have heard of him to be honest... Look into Dr. Lopez as well. I will getting my surgery the week of the 10th with him. I went through alighterme and Janese is my coordinator.

Never read anything about him on VST. I went to Dr. Alvarez in Piedras Negras. He is excellent, a really great surgeon. Research the Dr's in Mexico, there are several great surgeons, just depends on what is important to YOU in picking a surgeon.

you can check out some of the surgeons on this site.

hi I had surgery on Oct 20 in Puerto Vallarta with Dr Lopez and I had wonderful care from him. He is wonderful, he came to see me before after and that evening of my surgery. He even drove my husband to our hotel that night. I saw him the next day and during my leak test and then after that. He was great, I dont have any complaints at all and I had no problems after. I cant think of better care unless he stayed in my room the whole time. I would for sure recommend him. thanks

i had my revision with Dr Garcia in Tijuana on September 10th. He is an amazingly skilled surgeon and his price is very reasonable. It is worth to check him out. Google alighterme or Ready4Achange for a coordinator.

Just read those reviews... No offense, but there are other reasonable surgeons in Mexico that have great reputations. From what I'm reading about this Dr. it doesn't sound very good at all. Just do your research and make the best decision for you :)

Be Careful using their last names for search as they all have similar names. Look for all 3 names in their names to match. Its bloody confusing

Thank you! I have got it down to between dr. Garcia and Dr. Lopez.

From the reviews I've read of both, they are both skilled surgeons. I chose Dr. Lopez b/c he specializes in high BMI patients, like myself, who have greater risk during surgery... And he has a second surgeon with him when performs surgery to allow for another set of professional eyes. Since I have a bit of an anesthesia phobia that helps me a lot.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
