I had surgery 11/6/12 and today is 11/10 and I ate runny mash potatoes and hummus. I felt fine but don't know if I'm pushing the limit?

That sounds too quick to me. I can only have Clear Liquids until day 13. Then it is things like yogurt and sugar free pudding. So, I would scale back big time. It might feel ok, but it may still be dangerous to your sleeve.

I know that my doctor said I could have cream of wheat and mash potatoes but it just seems too soon. I know every doc is different but what I research it all says liquids only.

hey i'm no doctor but i am on liquids for 2 weeks before i can even graduate to mushies. i know every surgeon is different but i'm confused why they would push you on mashed potatoes of all things...that's starch, starch turns into sugar, then sugar turns into the fat. i would think he would throw something with a little more Protein in there. after liquid stage i can have sf pudding, low fat yogurt, cottage cheese bananas, light stuff like that. go with your gut feeling on this one :) hope you are doing well and healing nicely sleeve sista~ how are you doing with liquids? do you feel wicked full off of them

I went for my one week post op and the doctor said I was ok to go from clear liquids at 9 days (surgery was 11/2). I have stuck to super high Protein foods and still Protein Shakes. I think the hummus is a good choice but the mashed only work if ou are adding Protein Powder

I don't feel full off liquids, they hurt more then the mushy stuff. Thats why I'm confused, they even served me cream of wheat in the hospital on the last day. I think I will stick to more liquid and Protein Shakes.< /p>

Cream of wheat is fine on full liquids. If you like savory make some Soups and puréed to taste.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
