Any South San Francisco Kaiser Sleevers

Recommended Posts

I'm scheduled for surgery Monday with Dr. Kyack. Has anyone else had their procedure done at South SF Kaiser? If so, how was your experience?

I was sleeved on Oct 3rd by Dr. David Le. He was amazing. I know the OR nurse that assists both drs and she says that they are both incredible. She mentioned that Dr. Khayat is new to Kaiser but that he uses a new simpler technique that the other drs have also picked up and it's been an amazing experience for all the patients. I can honestly say that I had a great experience and no complications whatsoever. Didn't have to do any pre-op liquid diets that many seem to mention here. Only a light dinner the night before the surgery. Best of luck to the both of you :).

My BP was a little high so I stayed 2 nights but normally it's only a one night stay. I wish you all the best. I was nervous too but it really goes by quickly.

Best wishes to you. SSF Kaiser is known to be the 'Bariatric Guru'. Nothing to worry about. The surgery is only about 45 minutes and then the journey begins. Since Oct 3rd I've lost 25 lbs and couldn't be happier. It will be the best thing you ever did. :)

I couldn't eat anything until the day after surgery. Not to worry though because you will not feel any hunger. For the next 2 days I was on a liquid diet (just broth, Jello & tea/water). From day 3 until my 2 week check up I was on stage 2 of the liquid diet which included yogurt, mashed potatoes, creamy Soups and a few other items that I can't remember but they should all be in the handbook Hope that helps a little.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
