I use Ibuprofin 800mg (2 pills at a time) I know it's double my dosage but with Endometriosis, fibroids and cysts, I need something really strong... HATE CRAMPS!!!

I know Tylenol is still on the "ok" list for post-sleeve. Does it work for you?

Ibuprofen is my go-to for cramps, also. It's on my "NO" list of medications post-sleeve.

I take the maximum strength of a certain prescription NSAID. I'm 8 months out, and have taken them since week 3 post-op, with my surgeon's blessing and no ill effects.

Your surgeon may feel otherwise.

Try the adult dosage of Children's liquid Tylenol and warm tea. Fingers crossed for you!

Good luck and feel better.

My doc ok'd adult liquid tylenol... I was having headaches (I suspect coffee caffeine withdrawal) but the pain was not bad enough in my opinion to continue with the post surgery narcotic pain reliever... I got liquid tylenol for adults at CVS...

Midol has Acetaminophen and caffeine. Personally, it doesn't work as well as Ibuprofin for me but it helps!

So, I guess the ladies are right when they say tylenol since that is the same.

I had my fibroid tumors out. I had one the size of a grapefruit. Next best decision apart from the sleeve. Sorry about the endometriosis. Can much be done?

Here's the thing: the no NSAIDS are really for Gastric bypass pouch folks. I think most surgeons that do bariatric surgery and mostly do bypass just use this as a blanket rule.

Look what this article says:

Vertical sleeve gastrectomy patients and duodenal switch patients, on the other, are free to use NSAIDS as needed. Patients who regularly use NSAIDS to treat conditions like arthritis sometimes opt for the vertical sleeve gastrectomy or duodenal switch instead of gastric bypass or lap band so that they will be able to continue using the medication they need after surgery.

and this article by Dr. Aceves:

"Patients with diseases requiring treatment with NSAIDS or Steroids or other medications that irritate the stomach should consider the Gastric Sleeve, with the advice of their physician."

I just really hate the misinformation that comes with the laziness or surgeons who start doing the sleeve and don't bother to change the literature that their office gives out and don't bother to change their approach to the post-op care of people who have had very different surgeries.

My doctor indicated I could go back on NSAIDS after 6 weeks when regular foods were introduced. By that time the stomach is healed from the initial operation.

I never had problems with Motrin before - although I know some people do - and I don't have a problem now. I use them when I need them will NO ILL EFFECTS whatsoever.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
