Doing so much better than I thought. Walked a mile today. Can have Protein Shake again. Just a little sore.

I reacted to the tape, and have a bit of cellulitis. Waiting for the doc to come and take out the staples. Hoping for some different antibiotics when the doc gets here.

And 2 Water bottles so far and I'm sipping some broth right now. My stomach keeps making noises though. Not sure if its hungry or what's going on.. Other than that just sore

Hey guys thanks for all the updates! I'm finally going home today. My doc gave me nausea prescription and some other stuff to coat my belly. Warm liquids are my friend the cold Water or even room temperature definitely hurt. I'm excited to get home and rest. U can barely see my incisions they are sealed with glue. This surgery was no joke and I to am having wicked gas pain. I been walking but apparently not as much anyways good luck to all of us praying for great recovery

Just keep walking when you can and that pain will go away. Warm, room temp or cold really doesn't matter. Keeping hydrated does so warm it up if that's what it takes. Sounds like you're doing great. Your positive attitude on this site always cheers me up. Glad to hear that all went well.

hi everyone!

hope everyone is doing good. I was running a fever last night and it started scaring me. i climbed up to100.1. im sooooo nervous about leaks..super afraid. i felt better when i woke up this morning and my fever was gone. back to a normal temp. question to all you 5 day post op sleevers is..are u getting a sharp 2 second pain in the chest area after you drink? i walked a bunch these past few days and havent had any gas pains really. yesterday this pain was frequent, not as bad as today but still there. Is this the dreaded gas pain???? and are u guys still experiencing this?? im not sure how long they usually last. Also, my stomac was making some noises (like growling) earlier today, was scaring me a lil, but then i went to bathroom and finally had a BM (sorry too much info), and then it went away, but have u guys had this growling too? thank u so much for any experience input.. :)

Got sleeved on the 6th so I'm 3 days post op. having trouble getting my Protein and fluids down. So far I'm getting about 25 grams of protein and about 32 ounces of Water. If I take too big of sip, it really hurts. I feel like all I do is sip, and I'm still only meeting half my goal,. How are you guys doing on this...any tips?

Wow, you folks are doing great.

I was sleeved on the 7th and Im having trouble getting in any liquids, let alone the Protein shakes.

Im lucky to finish a Water bottle in the day.

My pain now is at the incision sites. A few air bubbles here and there that hurt a lot. But that passes.

Great job everyone.

Yes, I get the short sharp pain in the chest when i drink anything. And yes, my tummy talks quite loudly. I had surgery Nov 5th and have yet to meet my liquid or Protein requirements. Trying to sip on Isopure right now. I couldn't choke down the orange or green tea, but I am trying the grape. Good luck to you!

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
