Eating Everything I Can, While I Can:(

Recommended Posts

As anyone found that in the time between finding out you are having the surgery and the start of your pre-op diet, at they suddenly start wasting just for the sake of it? It's almost like I subconsciously am eating everything possible because I know that in a couple of weeks I will be unable to. I've gained so much weight, so very quickly. I'm also drinking a lot of alcohol too :(. But I just can't stop!!!

Darn auto correct!!!! It was meant to read "eating just for the sake of it" NOT "wasting"!!!

I am right there with you!!! Alcohol and all. My surgery date is the 13th, so I start my pre op diet on Tuesday. I didn't realize it until just the other day, it was 2 or 3 days after I got my surgery date. I am hoping that I am able to get it under control and calm down. Good luck! I can't wait to see u on the losers bench

I went bonkers for a while - ate everything in sight.....put on a few extra kgs very quickly. Now I'm finding I'm not really interested in food. No idea what's going on with that!

I'm due to be sleeved in about 2 1/2 weeks.

I ate a lot of favorites two weeks prior to surgery, but also knew that I had to drop some lbs. I was told that my doctor would be very displeased if I gained, and he is no bul!$. It was a balancing act to enjoy some things while not going crazy. food had such control over my life that I couldn't reconcile limiting access to it. At the same time I was giving myself some tough love going through with the surgery. It was a leap of faith. You are the only one putting things in your mouth. That doesn't mean to be forever perfect, just make much better choices most of the time. I'll be going into my 6 th week and it is ok. I have yet to shed a single tear over food. What is challenging is working on the mental and emotional aspects of an addiction to food. I'm learning and growing and everything will be alright. It will be for you, too as you develop and work towards targets and goals. Be good to yourself in the process by thinking about what you are eating and why. For me, the further away from simple carbs I got, the easier the process became. Carbs are my crack.

I am right there with you, I have gained about 7 pounds in the last 2 months since seeing the surgeon and about 30 in the last 6 months going through the process...just cannot get it together.

A fatty liver will cause some surgeons to decline your operation. More fat weight usually means a much larger, fatter liver that can more easily be damaged and/ or make the surgical process more difficult working around it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
