Worst Fears Came To Life

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone

sorry i haven't had a chance to write sooner, i work 3 jobs so its hard to find time. I have been continuously on the lupron for 4 yrs and with the consultion of 4 MDs I will probably be on it for a very long time.

<snip>

Bless your heart. I found out during a TT that I had fibroids. Me? :faint:

I couldn't believe it. I had zero symptoms, regular cycles, no cramps, no indication. The only related issue I had was long term Iron anemia (which everyone said was due to either the LapBand or being a non-meat-eater).

Anyway, they offered me two choices to handle this issue:

Lupron - which I suspected and my doctor confirmed, would absolutely eradicate my weight loss) or

Surgery.

Going into the sx I checked with my ob/gyn, my pcp, and my surgeon no one realized this would have any affect on me. ive had the same condition for 10 yrs only 8.5 w/ a dx. nobody told me that this would happen, and since it wont go away til i reach menopause, it going to be awhile since im only 21. tabitha

Even my PCP was like, 'I know you don't want surgery but you won't like what Lupron will do to your body or your weight. You've worked so hard, Lupron would be a huge setback.'

It was like "Deal or no Deal" because I was weighing my options. I chose surgery.

I am so sorry that none of your doctors told you that Lupron would counteract any work that the LapBand could do, especially if you're going to be on it long term.

You were horribly misled.

I hope that you & your medical team can make some better choices on how to proceed from here.

(( hugs ))

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
