Oh, just take a deep breath and relax. I think we all had those feelings right before surgery and also feelings of 'what I have I done" right after but even 1 month out, I can honestly say, it has been a great thing for me. I am off all my meds for blood pressure, high cholesterol and insulin resistance. I am already feeling so much better (although there were some difficult days) and have already lost 30 pounds!!!!!

Now, if you really want to back out, then go with your gut but you have already been through so much to get where you are.

Know that I am thinking of you! Best wishes!

Oh don't back out!! For me it wasn't that bad I was surprised at how fast and easy my healing process was, I was back at work in 7 days! I'm 9 months now and hardly even remember getting the sugery! Its the best thing I have ever done for myself.

I think you might regret that decision in the long run, but I wish you the best of luck.

There is a thread here that talks of lap band reversals into ventricle sleeve. You should look into it!

My surgeon told me that usually after lapband patients need the sleeve. I just dont feel comfortable yet having them remove so much of my stomach. I never had a surgery before. I know someone who has had lapband and she seems to be doing really well on it. Im just hoping for the best.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
