Recommended Posts

Good luck..!!you will be fine!..I'm sorry for that embarrassing moment..mine was getting on a plane and the seat belt not fitting and not being able to pull the tray down all the way in front of me. I made a joke of it like normal..but it really does suck..my surgery is Nov.7im freaking too..but I hit my knees and prayed this morning..I have to remember that I have to have faith..you'll be OK! Keep us updated!!

For those who believe, prayer and God's promises are a great comfort, He promises never to leave us and He is right there with us, every step we take, or wait, lol, as is my case, so good to have this forum, I've decided that nice people get sleeved, lol, :-)

Thanks everyone for a) making me feel slightly less crazy, and B) your sweet, comforting words! I am truly grateful for the people on this forum. Even the jerks as they helped me cement my decision by making me defend it!

Thanks y'all!! <3

Mine is 15th. I can't concentrate at this point. I worked from home this and signed off at 3. They should approve days before surgery

I had my sleeve 2 days ago and I was really frieking out once I was 7 days from surgery! I had to sit with my boss (Elem. School principal, I'm one if her secretaries) and exlain my Pre-op diet and why I was so edgy. She was totally understanding. I'm home and pretty uncomfortable (hiatal hernia surgery at same time) the gass is horrendous and moving and walking is the only way to get it out. Read some threads about "most embarrassing moments" or "last straw". You'll find you are not alone re: breaking lawn chairs and airplane seat belts that don't fit-funny and universal whenever I think this is too hard, I imagine how it would feel to step onto an elevator and every old boy/girlfriend you ever had was on it. What would they think when they saw you? OMG she looks great or WOW she's huge. That helps me get through, even tho it matters most how I feel about myself, the social aspect of my obesity is real and I will no longer lie to myself sayingit doesn't matter what anyone thinks -then why did I stop going to events and functions because of my weight- what to wear, etc. because I was ashamed. Niw that's the past, my new life started yesterday! Peace!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
