How long does it take for you to actually get sleeved once you start? Are what is the steps

All insurance requirements are different. I have BCBS NJ and they required a 2 year weight history from PCP. A letter from me detailing my efforts over the last year. A psych eval. A Nutritionist meeting. My surgeon had required bloodwork and an Endoscopy. I began with a consult with the surgeon to get info on August 1, I received my insurance approval 9/25. Next Tuesday I go to meet with my surgeon again and set a date for surgery.

I took a few weeks to decide to move forward so I could have gotten the approval quicker, I guess.

The office coordinator at your chosen practice should be able to tell you exactly what is required for insurance approval.

Good luck!

Hi I have Aetna *** and I have gone to 17 appointments and getting a stress test done tomorrow. This journey has not been easy but I am not willing to throw in the towel. I just called my surgeon's office and they tell me I won't know for sure if Oct. 9th is a go until Thursday afternoon. I am so anxious, nervous, and excited that I feel like screaming. It all depends on your insurance on the amount of appointments and they also take into consideration your health issues and your family's as well. Good luck with everything! Stay focused on the new you and faith in God, everything will be all right!

I'm with BCBS of IL and I needed a letter from my Primary Care and an explanation of all of the attempts that I made to loose the weight. It took me less than a month from the seminar to receiving approval from the Insurance company

The one good thing about so many appointments is that you really have time to think about what you are doing. It gives you time to exercise, change your way of thinking about food, and really allow for this new life to sink in your brain and truly appreciate it. I journal so that I don't forget all the ups and downs. When I have the urge to give up or cheat, I will pick up that book and remind myself. OH HELL NO!!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
