12/2012 Sleevers...what Is Your Plan?

We have 2 months or more until the time of our surgeries. Share what you are doing to prepare.

Even though I have my date, I still have 3 more appointments to attend. 2 on the same day and 1 in November. I am hoping to make it to Support Group Meeting on tomorrow since I don't have school. This will be the 1st meeting I will have attended since March.

So are you planning your excercises?

Are you trying Protein Drinks or shakes?

Are you purchasing little by little items needed for surgery?

The time will go by quickly...do not be caught off guard.

Until next time....

I am currently still working on slowing down when I eat. I am also working on really chewing my food. I plan on trying different baby foods for post op eating when I get to soft foods. I also plan on getting baby spoons to limit how big my bites are both pre-op and post-op.

As far as meeting I go to MOVE with my local VA every Friday. The VA only has bariatric support group once a month, but I do plan on going next month.

I've been drinking herbalife shakes w/ extra protein for breakfast for at least a year now and plan to stick with it because it's the only shake I like and comes in a lot of different flavors. I'm trying to start my exercise regime now, which includes zumba, yoga and lots of walking. I'm buying draw string pants that I can wear for awhile as I drop sizes because I don't want to spend a ton of money on new clothes until I near goal. I'm hoping to find a clothing exchange program in my area...or maybe I'll start on :)

I hope I am recovered enough by Christmas, my surgery is 12/12/12. My husband's family is coming to our house this year. His mother has been very ill and was not able to host. As far as clothes, I think I am just going to buy dresses and belts. I think dresses will be the most versatile. I have been in the kitchen making all sorts of broths and soups for when I come home. I do need to go purchase those baby spoons, that's a good idea!!
