I'm on soft/puréed. Basically I was told nothing crunchy. Coming up on 3 weeks. Tonight family is having shredded pork. Quite juicy. When did you have meat? I'd love to get some real Protein in. When I asked about spaghetti sauce that hubby makes she just told me to chew well to the consistency of Soup.

Curious about everyone else. I'm sure I'll be too chicken to try it....

I'm on the puréed stage. I have eaten soft meat, but I do use my stick blender to kind of grind it up. Made chicken salad that way and it tastes great. Nice to eat something with a little texture.

Forgot to mention that this is on my purée diet. Told to start with 2 oz. Seemsore appealing to me than baby food meats.< /p>

I bought canned crab meat and blended it with fat free mayo and some celery seed and onion flakes! Love it and it gives a decent amount of Protein. Going to try same thing with shrimp!!

To what consistency are you blending? Chunkier than baby food?

I would just blend the pork with the stick blender. I have been eating chicken and fish that way and I am going to try pork that way tomorrow! I am also on week 3.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
