I'm 3 weeks post-op today. I feel great! More energy than I've had in a very long time.

I've had no issues with choking, but until yesterday I've been on a liquid only diet. I started pureed foods yesterday and no issues so far. Just make sure you don't cheat and eat foods your stomach isn't ready for. There is a lot of healing that has to happen - even though you feel good and your external incisions have healed, inside you are still very raw and not ready for "real" food.< /p>

If your doctor hasn't provided a post-surgery diet, ask for one. If he doesn't have one, I'll be happy to share mine and another one I found on-line. I know others on here have also posted their post-surgery diets. Each surgeon seems to have their own ideas about what you should do. Mine is VERY conservative (which I like).

Best of luck - you will be fine - and soon you'll be as happy as I am to be healthier and happier :)

You won’t choke on food your throat isn’t being made smaller so you won’t choke if you eat too much you will puke but its not a choking kinda thing.

Your not allowed to take pills for a very long time just last week (20 weeks out) I was told I can finally take pain killers in whole pill form.

Its not like the lapband where it gets stuck there’s no obstruction or restriction like that with the sleeve you tummy is just smaller so if you overfill blugh puksville

I was on a liquid diet for 2 weeks pre-op (3-4 Protein shakes/day). The first couple of days we a bit tough but after that I just decided not to let it bother me.

From the start of my pre-op diet until now I've lost about 25 pounds. I say about because I quit weighing myself every day.........

I have been able to swallow whole pills that are no bigger than an aspirin since last week. Some surgeon's don't recommend it, and it may depend on what the medication is, but I'm swallowing 2 tablets (the size of an aspirin) and 2 Vitamin D pills (a little bigger than a BB) in the morning (along with chewable Prevaid and chewable Vitamin and sublingul B12) every morning without any complications. One of the pills I take can't be crushed for example.

It's going very well - I know you'll do well too.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
