"factor V Leiden" Anyone Have It That Has Been Sleeved Or Going To Be Sleeved?

Ok alot of people dont know what it is ! Factor V leiden is a genetic blood disorder where your blood is to thick and you can throw blood clots easly ! I found out i had it 10 yrs ago and have been on coumadin . Just curious if anyone else on here had the same issues????

Hi Mandy. I have Factor 5 too. Only issues pertained to stopping coumadin prior to surgery, I developed a GI bleed and was placed in ICU for 3 days, but it was due to an ulcer (unknown cause). I think that because I took the blook thinning injections prior to flying home that did not help with the GI bleed. Would you be having surgery here in the states or what's your plan?
