Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call

I have United Health Care' date=' their website will tell you what bariatric surgeons are in the network in your area. Once you get that list, you can start researching them, reading reviews etc. Good luck to your Mom, the insurance worked well for my surgery once I jumped through all the hoops they wanted.[/quote']

Thank you!!!

Hi Teach5,

Congratulations on your weight loss - 75 lbs is amazing!!!

I see my own weight loss in the mirror but.....not in recent pictures of me. Isn't that funny? I do see it in the clothes being so loose.

Hoping others will have some answers for you! Maybe new clothes will help promote the new look for you? You are doing amazing!

Ibhere' date=' sounds like you have lost a TON! But you've replaced it with muscle. And muscle weighs more than fat. I've always said, honestly don't care what the scale says, it's the clothes and the mirror that really do the talking.

I have had plenty of stalls and they suck and I get a bit discouraged. But I try not to, I just take a hard look at what I'm doing, what I'm putting in my mouth and if it's all good, then I talk myself into believing that my body is just adjusting and to keep doing what I need to do and all will start moving again. I think if we keep doing what we're supposed to be doing...keep our Protein up, keep pushing that Water, and watching the little sneaky things, we will see the scale move. We all know that we really could gain again, for real. We have seen people do it after having RNY. But we need to keep ourselves accountable, even if it's only being honest with ourselves. This is a great tool. But the tool don't work unless I do. So glad I did this. Even when I'm puking (which hasn't happened in a really long time...now look, I've jinxed it!), or can only take a few bites. I'm still glad I did it!

Just and FYI, I am a slooooooowwwww loser. Can't believe that I have lost what I have. Seriously, I have to tell myself nearly daily, that the scale really isn't lying. That I don't have evil elves living in my bathroom adjusting the scale overnight. We will keep on track because we really can do this. WE CAN!!! and all of us are doing it![/quote']

You are so right Momof!! I have to be reminded and stay grateful for the loss thus far and the decreasing sizes!!!!

I haven't checked in in awhile. Work has been hectic' date=' like most schools budget cuts, layoffs, etc. I was sleeved on 9/24/12 and am down 75lbs since surgery and 110 since I began the process. Funny thing is when I look in the mirror I look the same to myself. I definitely know I lost weight, none of my pre surgery clothes fit. I get extreme reactions from people I haven't seen in awhile. I wonder when or how long it will take for me to see the new me in the mirror? Did or does anyone else go through this?[/quote']

I really see the loss by looking at before pics side by side of now pics ! If you haven't tried that yet maybe that will help you see what others are seeing! You have done great with 75 gone !!

NGMA- I am at the point I want to start working out as well. I walked a little and did some crunches yesterday and boy am I out of shape. I could barely do 20 crunches in a row without almost dying. But I am really motivated now especially now that the weight is falling off.

Happy Valentines everyone. You are all doing really great on your weight loss. I am still the slowest though, with only losing 27lbs since day of surgery(230lbs) Sept 24 and pre surgery diet of 252lbs. Although I do work out 3 times a week, I am not the best at watching my diet. I am still eating only half of what I used to eat so you would think I would lose on that alone, but nope. I have been stuck for 2 months now. I bought the stuff to go back on the pre surgery diet as suggested by nutritionist, but I havent started yet. I have to pysch myself up for that. I better get off the pot and get started.

My sounding board for the day. Thanks for listening all.

Jordan- Have you ever wondered if they made your sleeve too big? Is that even a possibility? I know that even now I can only eat maybe 1/4 of what I used to eat otherwise I throw up. Unless I eat chips and Cookies and believe me those go down just fine.

NGMA- I definitely feel it within myself to get up and do it! 45 minutes on the bike is awesome! That is exactly what I need to do!

Happy Dance day 2 of returning to the pre surgery diet. I have broken the 200lb mark which for some reason was really important to me. I couldn't believe it. I woke up this morning and weighed myself stark naked 198.1. So I went and had my Breakfast drink, went to the pool for an aqua class. Came home and weighed myself dressed with shoes and weighed 199. I want it to be nightime now so I can weigh myself to see if after the whole day I still weigh less than 200lb. I am so excited. Thanks everyone and greenfamily for just telling me to do it. Exciting to see what the next few days will be.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
