LUMP in throat

Recommended Posts

Awe, thanks for the compliment, Sue, but they certified me years ago.

I still can't seem to reach my biggest goal of not eating before I sit down. I find myself near death if I can't get at least one bite of food in my mouth while preparing my plate. And the slowy-downy-chewy-thing. I gotta work on that.

Lisa, that not-nibbling thing is a BIG one for me, too. Even though I know WAY better, just the other night I had a piece of ravioli while dishing it out for the others. Then I had one more upon sitting down, and that was about it for me for dinner. I can't tell you how many dinners I've been unable to eat because I nibbled something right before it.

Someone suggested wearing a surgical mask while cooking, which at least slows you down a little every time your hand goes for your mouth. What an eye-opener that would be! :D

Penni said:

Neither you nor the food are going anywhere.

ROTFLMAO!!!! :D

That's what I've always loved best about dead food...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH!!!!!!! :D

Penni, I didn't reply to your "the food isn't going anywhere" because I simply don't believe you. I have dreams of the fat short man and skinny tall man that live under my bed and take all the food. How do I know they're really dreams? We might wake up in some twilight zone of no-foodedness tomorrow.

Don't you know how to act like a normal obese person, Ms. Penni has Power? Sheesh. Gimme some! My head is far from fixed. Still working on it, but it's one f'd up mess upstairs when it comes to food.

I'm fretting because my dinner has gone cold (intentionally) but I won't throw it away because I'm practicing. I'm trying to become "okay" with the thought of food sitting next to me. It's not torture for the normal person. My friend, Babs, has a jar of peanuts on her coffee table. They've been filled to the same level for a month with 5 people living in that house. I don't get it. Don't they know those damn peanuts are sitting there?

Donali, that's another one for the books! Kill the mac & chz!

Normal weight people are just not very observant, I've found...

I had a full fledge pb last night, eating too fast and not chewing well. That's a pretty scary experience. I want to do what I supposed to do to prevent that from happening again. I'm just going to have to take some slow breathes, slow down, and enjoy my meal in a leisurely manner.

Carmen, the golfball/stuck feeling is not the same as feeling food going down.

Hard to describe, but once you feel it you'll understand. :D

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
