I lost 30 lbs before surgery then I had surgery in July 3rd and lost 20 more my goal is 100 but 70 lbs would be great. I see all these people who had surgery around the same time and lost so much I almost 2 1/2 mo and stalled!!! What is wrong ! Is that normal? I feeling very down ;(

I had my surgery on 7/11/12 and have lost 39 lbs so far. I'm now in my second stall ugh!!! It's normal, so I'm told. Don't lose faith it will come off. Good luck.

yes it is  i am going trough a stall as we speak :(

I see others that had surgery around the same time I did way ahead of me. But as i am often reminded, this is not a race. We all going to this differently. Our journey is going to be different. But at the end, we will all reach the destination... Skinnyville :)

Sleeved on 8/14 on been in a stall for 3 weeks. I stopped getting on the scale everyday. I'm keeping up with my exercise routines and my diet . I noticed when weighing everyday if I drank 60 ounces of Water the next day I would weigh less. I'm trying to focus on non scale victories (NSV) like being able to keep up with a work out routine. Or playing with my children for an hour at the park. Fitting into a top that I couldn't wear prior to surgery to keep me from feeling discouraged. Stalls are really hard and can make you feel like a failure if you choose to give it all your attention!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
