Not To Ask A Dumb Embarrasing Question But...

Recommended Posts

Myself and the guy that I am currently seeing had sex last night and for some reason didn't think of it until went the bathroom later, that we were both covered in blood. It was the 2nd time that he and I had had sex and prior to that I had only been with one other guy, he was quite small to say the least. I technically lost my virginity when I was about 400 lbs+, but there was really no blood then. So here's my question, seeing as I am now around 220 is it possible that minus that 200+ pds, that my hymen just would now rupture or is there something else going on that I may need to have checked?

Are you having a period? That would be my first thought.

Period? Maybe you need to get checked for fibroids, endometriosis or cysts? When you were 400, did you feel "it?" In other words, did your weight keep him from going all the way in? If so, it could be the hymen issue but the thing is that when I lost my virginity, there was blood but not so much that it came out on its own. I only saw it when I wiped and it was one time.

About a year ago right after I changed birth control pills I bleed very heavy during intercourse. Are you on any new medication?

Your hymen most likely wouldn't bleed that much. If your on your period, that could be the cause. How far out are you? Could you have ruptured something? Were you well lubricated? This is probably a good time to call the surgeon to be safe. :)

I found that arousal coupled with my pcos could bring on my period unexpectedly....

From a physical perspective, you will get smaller -- your vaginal canal will shrink but not enough to do that unless there was not enough lubrication. I would go to a gyno and get checked out!

I do not necessarily believe it to be weight-related but if you felt more "aroused" in the last few days and more "lubricated" during sex then it was very likely a period. If you felt a little more dry, and even a little sore then it may have been your hymen. Dome girls hymens will break long before intercourse, but some girls also have a more durable hymen which can cause problems during intercourse. Since you are sexually active I would recommend a trip to a gynocologist for regular pap-smear and STI test regardless of whether you use protection, and you can ask their opinion then.

P.s one thing I know for sure is it will take time for your period to regulate as you lose/lost weight. This is normal, but in this case obviously a little awkward. Also, good news if you have a boy-toy mature enough to handle these sort of things that just happen :)

My period was over last week. I've been taking sveyda ( generic ocella) and everything was ok when I went to the gyno last fall.

The thing is STI can occur even with hormonal contraceptive and bleeding during sex if it is not your time of the month can be a big indicator of an STI. So in my opinion a full work up would probably be recommended by your gyno if you see them, so best advice is book an appt. There's absolutely nothing to be embarrassed about, but the best I can do is refer you again to a health care provider. *peace*

Have you been getting a regular period? Is there a chance you could have been pregnant?

Seriously doubt it, we just had sex for the first time a week ago, during my period. I think maybe tissue got torn or something, because it stung for a little while.

I've been torn and had had bleeding stingy that's big possibility depending on how much blood there was and even color but to be safe id go to dr

I would go to the doctor. Unexplained bleeding can be a sign of different problems or it could be nothing. I don't think it was your hymen though, since you had already had sex a couple times before.

I hope everything turns out ok. Take care. :-)

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
