So I'm 23 days out and I'm still on the puréed diet until wedensday. I'd really appreciate if someone could give me an idea on what their sched is like when it comes to eating/ drinking and how they manage to get in all their Protein and drinking for one day. Thanks!

Oh, bless you--small constant sips for Fluid. Keep a beverage with you all the time and sip like a fiend. I never managed to get in all the Protein I was supposed to, but folks do--have you looked at the pureed food suggestions on this forum? People make mashed-up chicken and egg salad and all kinds of protein-rich foods. I know I ate a lot of yogurt and a lot of smushed-up cottage cheese during mushies, plus refried Beans with melted cheese--that seemed SO decadent at the time, after a couple of weeks of liquids! Hang in there--it gets a lot easier once your options expand. :-)

if you add a cup of milk to your shake it has about 9 grams of Protein.< /p>

Wow 50 grams of Protein? I'm def going to have to try that. I have the unjury Protein and some other protein drink from GNC which makes me gag but both only have like 25 grams. Can't see myself drinking 2 of them

I also found that Isopure is the best option for me. I have a hard time with some of the powdered mixes but the RTU Isopure is a juice more than a shake. Some of the flavors are not so great, but compared to my other choices I'll take it! Getting that much protein in with one drink is much more easier than trying to keep track of how many scoops you've used in a day.

Can we have milk during the early stages?

I was allowed to have any liquid that's able to go through a straw my first 2 weeks home. At first it did bother my stomach and I told my doctor that but he said try again so I did and now I can handle it

My doctor has us doing Clear Liquids the first week, then liquids that will go through a strainer the next two weeks. My sleeve date is 8/28 but I have been doing the Isopure RTD & tried almost all the flavors. So far I only "like" Blue Raspberry" & "Grape Frost".

Ever since my surgery I find that anything blue raspberry is the only flavor juice type drink that I love I'll have to try that one

Blue Raspberry and Grape Frost are my favorites as well. My first order of Isopure RTD was a variety case. This gve me the chance to taste all of them and decide what I liked the best before I placed my next order.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
