Just found out that I tested positive for H-pylori and my Dr office is closed. Surgery in 13 days! I hope this doesn't postpone it. :(

Don't panic. I had it as well. They put me on what's called a Prev PAC which is a very aggressive group of meds I had to take 2x day for 14 days. Just ask you doctor for the medication ASAP. Hopefully it won't delay your surgery. Mine is 10/15 and I saw my surgeon today and he said mine is dead and gone.

Let us know!!!

They had told me to have the tests at least 10 days out so if it was positive they could give me the medicine. I hope that is enough time. The weird thing is that I had called the surgeon's office this morning and they said everything was good. My PCP is the one who called me. I read that some people have to wait a couple of months after testing positive. I am kind of freaking right now.

I am getting nervous, first off I get sleeved Oct 24 and have appointments on Oct 18, nothing yet on preop diet. I will be put on the liquid diet and will have to drink miralx or whatever. I hear a lot of you are on liquid diets for 2 weeks. My doc had said nothing about this. I have been eating foods I should not be eating but I feel like someone on death row getting my last meal. I hope my liver has time to shrink. I guess my doc knows what he's doing.

Don't worry, I didn't have a pre-op diet either. My doctor had me follow a South Beach Phase 1 for the week before surgery and then liquids only the day before the surgery. I did have to take Miralax for 3 days before surgery as well. I ate like you wouldnt believe up until that one week before surgery and I did fine.

I was sleeved Oct. 1st, had a rough few days over the weekend but I am feeling alot better. I also had a drain in, that the doctor removed at my appt today. I have lost 8 pounds since sugery and everything else is fine. Still on liquids though. I begged for puree stage but he wouldn't do it for another week!! Life is good. :)

Good luck to my fellow Oct. 10, 11 and 12th-ers! It's great to see so many positive posts about surgery this week! God bless you all with continued pain-free (or controlled, at least!) recovery! 1 more day for me- Thurs. 10/11/12. I have to drink the magnesium citrus drink as soon as I get home from work tomorrow. Does it makes you sick? I don't have much food in me, shave no idea what it'll do...scared!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
