Dropping stuff

Recommended Posts

Is it me, or did they forget to mention "dropping stuff" on the list of side effects with band/port surgery?

Has anyone noticed the need for bending over to pick up dropped stuff has increased tenfold since surgery? Where is that Murphy?

I don't think it goes away - I just think we stop noticing how much we bend over when it doesn't feel like it's going to kill us... lol :)

I'm impressed how quickly our bodies adapt because I can now pick up a toothpick with my toes without even looking.

Is that a big feet joke? Speaking of toes, Babs gave me a 2 hour pedicure yesterday, just to be nice. Can you believe that woman?

Now I have to post a picture of my toes, sheesh, so much to do, such little time!

Lucky Devil! A two hour pedicure!!!! Sweet. I wish I could get my hubby to do something so nice. I just got a professional pedicure last week but boy I would love another. They forgot to really sand at my callouses. Hope you are doing better lisa. I know after my surgery it seemed I dropped everything all the time. UGh! Well best wishes, Teresa

Lisa: I drop things deliberately just to see how easy it is now to pick things up. LOL!!!

Poor baby has the dropsy. I don't have the heart either Donali.

Penni, you show off! I've had infected, bleeding, oozing, deformed, protruding, hurting, tearing port issues for so long that I'll probably be driving with my feet if it doesn't heal soon.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
