Happy Snaps From The Surgeon

My dr gave my 3 big a4 glossy prints of pictures he took while he was operating. The first was of my new stomach with the bougie still in, the second was of the part of my stomach he removed, that he had filled with saline to show me how big it was, and the third was of my new stomach all sewn nice and tight into its new home with surrounding tissue. He was really very proud as he was explaining them to me. I felt reassured that he took so much pride in his work that he wanted to share it with me.

I really liked the pics and have kept them. All the nurses had a look at them. Gave me a bit of an insight into how it all happens. It's not often I'm happy to have my photo taken, but these I didn't mind.

Anybody else got happy snaps after surgery?

That is pretty cool I would have liked to know how big the bit they threw away was lol

That is so cool! I asked my Dr. How large my old stomach was and he said "It was pretty large". I look at the hole they made in me to take it out and it is amazing it is so tiny. This surgery is pretty amazing! I am so thankful for the Dr's that worked to perfect it so that I could have it done!

OMG wow I didnt realise stomachs were so big!! Although Im sure mine is bigger than yours. Thanks for posting, Im tempted to ask my Doctor to take photos of mine. I wonder if he will? very interesting pics

I showed my DH. He asked me "omg, are you sure you want to do this? I hope you know what you are doing"...my reply was, of course!

I got pictures too! But at my post-op I need to ask him what I'm looking at. Lol I don't have a picture of my removed stomach though...that would've been neat.

Wow thanks for sharing the pics, the were awesome! Especially since he blew up the old stomach. Wish I had gotten some:)

Thank you for sharing;))

He filled the stomach with saline, I wish I could have "blown it up" literally. So glad it's not in my anymore.

Awesome!!

I wonder can the surgeon leave in more than 15 percent of ur stomach hmmm!

Totally cool! Thanks!

I am going to ask my surgeon I was wondering about if I could see it.

That's so cool! Thanks for sharing
