My dr gave my 3 big a4 glossy prints of pictures he took while he was operating. The first was of my new stomach with the bougie still in, the second was of the part of my stomach he removed, that he had filled with saline to show me how big it was, and the third was of my new stomach all sewn nice and tight into its new home with surrounding tissue. He was really very proud as he was explaining them to me. I felt reassured that he took so much pride in his work that he wanted to share it with me.

I really liked the pics and have kept them. All the nurses had a look at them. Gave me a bit of an insight into how it all happens. It's not often I'm happy to have my photo taken, but these I didn't mind.

Anybody else got happy snaps after surgery?

When I first opened this thread I thought you meant happy snaps, as in "2 snaps in a circle" (if you're younger than me you probably have no idea what that even means). Consider it a way of saying "job well done" -- and I was intrigued by a surgeon who would say, "happy snaps!" about your weightloss.

Haha that's freaking awesome! I watched a surgical video and it showed them taking out the stomach. They put it in some kind of "medical bag" that is clear and then pull it out through the hole in your tummy. It was amazing how easily the tummy fit through the hole! I was like whoa!

Hopefully they cut mine three times, that thing is huge no wonder I was fat.... Lol
