Hello Everyone!!

I have a system. I walk a mile and do an aerobics video daily. I have a few videos so I don't get too bored.

I am still on pre op, so I don't want to lift weights yet.

Any ideas on keeping your motivation?

What motivates me is variety and accountability - I love meeting others for an exercise class or if I can afford it - pay for personal training - and right now I just started training for 1/2 marathon - it will be quite challenging as my cardio endurance is practically nill but I feel good every time I train. Training for a 5K or training for a walk a thon - it's all the same - you commit to stick to your training schedule and sign up for the event ahead of time, tell everyone you know and you're committed. I signed up for the body for life challenge many years ago and entered their contest 4 times - every 6 weeks - I looked and felt like a true body builder - that was highly motivating - taking pics - keeping workout journals, I also allow myself one cheat day a week - where I can eat pretty much what I want (of course, not stuffing etc.) IF and only IF i stick to my workout plans all week - that's motivating too.       Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

        As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

      Sleeve surgery is on April 14th.  I am counting the days!!  Can't wait!

        Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

        Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

      Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
