I had to my doctor and like I said we talked about my weight and things I was doing to help lose weight but she

said I am best going to Dr for surgery and follow their program I could scream because I think I would get approved at

least a month earlier but oh well.

I am only about an hour from Toledo in nw Ohio. My mom and brother live in Toledo! Well I'm in the beginning stages, but pretty excited that I got my pcps approval today! One more thing checked off the list, now onto the psych eval! Once that is done how much longer should it take to start classes?

Jessielynn, I think easch insurance is different. I had to do 6 months of nutricional counseling. They count your first visit as one month (go figure) so it's really only 5 months. My last class is 9/17. Then they will submit it to insurance. That should take two weeks. I'm getting excited.

Where are you? Where will you have your sleeve done?

Jessielynn. I am getting it done at Toledo Hospital, I bet I don't get it done until sometime in November. I wish it was sooner. In the mean time I am trying really hard to lose whatever I can before hand, Not easy!

Hey Stephanie!

OH MY GOSH I'm not doing to hot on the pre-op diet.. lol ( but it really could be because I'm type 2 and not used to such a drastic change in diet) But I'm nauseous all the time and tired. lol I'm only on day 3 though so I'm sure I'm just adjusting to the food! but I'm staying positive and hanging in there! awww one year old twins!! ( I'm jelly! lol another reason I want surgery to be able to have kids! :) ) But once you get to the pre op diet... some of that food is soooo nasty! but they are super nice and let you trade food back in.. I just got a lot of the drinks.. but keep me updated chica!

Rachel

I'm from Cincinnati too, well just outside city limits in Reading. I'm saving up the $250 dollars I need to get started on the weight loss journey.

I am also a patient of Dr. Curry's and live in burbs north of Cincy. I has my 3hr meeting with him and his team on 8/8 and got my approval letter on 8/25. My scope is 9/5 and hopefully surgery date very soon. Very anxious and excited at the same time.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
