I'm 5 days post op and I find it a challenge to sip. I'm not really starving but my tummy is so empty, I started full liquids today and just want to guzzle my Protein Shake down. I'm forcing myself to drink it out of the one oz cups but can finish that in 5 mins. I had 1oz already and not feeling sick or full. Can some people hold more liquid? I don't want to ANYTHING to hurt my precious sleeve.

Welcome back Missy! Sipping is better for a bit more ( like a couple (2) of weeks). It really hurt me when I took a gulp or drank anything down really fast. Remeber it's a new baby tummy!

I could hold more at that time. I would take a drink every 5 mintues and could down my 11oz shake in about 1/2 hr. As long as you listen to your body you will be fine - if I drink too fast it will let me know but now, at 10 weeks out I'm able to drink like I did before surgery (I was never a gulper).

Thanks Ladies!

I'm doing fantastic. The first and second days were ...wow  but each day after has been better and better. I may even go to work next week if I can get rides, I sit at a desk, and just see what I can do but, I will wait til Sunday to decide that.

Well cool if you can do that. I work as an Dental office Manger and sit pretty much all day too. I gave myself 3 weeks off. I really wanted to let my body heal ( and some of my mind too...LOL). You do whats good for you, but keep up the good work, so excited for you!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
