Sipping Vs Gulping

I'm 5 days post op and I find it a challenge to sip. I'm not really starving but my tummy is so empty, I started full liquids today and just want to guzzle my protein shake down. I'm forcing myself to drink it out of the one oz cups but can finish that in 5 mins. I had 1oz already and not feeling sick or full. Can some people hold more liquid? I don't want to ANYTHING to hurt my precious sleeve.

Welcome back Missy! Sipping is better for a bit more ( like a couple (2) of weeks). It really hurt me when I took a gulp or drank anything down really fast. Remeber it's a new baby tummy!

How are ya doing other then that?

I could hold more at that time. I would take a drink every 5 mintues and could down my 11oz shake in about 1/2 hr. As long as you listen to your body you will be fine - if I drink too fast it will let me know but now, at 10 weeks out I'm able to drink like I did before surgery (I was never a gulper).

Thanks Ladies!

I'm doing fantastic. The first and second days were ...wow  but each day after has been better and better. I may even go to work next week if I can get rides, I sit at a desk, and just see what I can do but, I will wait til Sunday to decide that.

Well cool if you can do that. I work as an Dental office Manger and sit pretty much all day too. I gave myself 3 weeks off. I really wanted to let my body heal ( and some of my mind too...LOL). You do whats good for you, but keep up the good work, so excited for you!
