Had my band out Aug 9th the recovery is about the same , just less has pain for me. So happy made that decision , every fill , I was either too tight where could not eat or end up getting stuck to the place where I was in the ER. This was the best decision I made . You will not regret it!

Hi everyone I did great with my surgery. It only took 1.5 hours for the whole procedure no problems with scar tissue after having my band 10 years to God be the glory.

I am so happy for you. I have had my band for 5 years and want it out. It makes me feel so good to hear that it can be done in one surgery successfully.

Hey y'all! Well I'm still at the hospital. Feeling really bad. This is a little bit harder from when I had the lapband. The doc said I had a lot of scar tissue and the band looked bad so my recovery would be a little bit longer. I feel like I have 24 hr heart burn du to the gas. Pain and nausea have been at an 8 so getting meds thru Iv. But I'll check back later... Just trying to keep comfortable.

I am having my revision October 11th. Have had band for 7 years. Not bad weight loss at first, but regained most of it back. I am having trouble with heartburn and some nausea. Ready to get it out! It has never been comfortable. I had my gallbladder out last year and my port tube was adhered to my gallbladder! My Doctor ( Dr. Alvarez) said there is a 50/50 chance of a complete revision in one surgery. Please be in prayer for me that I can get it done in one surgery. Thanks for all your support!

Lil Lo I would have used Dr Alvarez and Susan his patient advocate told me the same thing. if insurance would not have covered but I got approved. I will keep you in prayer for one procedure. Who did your band? Keep me informed how you do

Dr. Les Miles in Birmingham, AL did my band. Insurance won't pay and I can't afford it. He has not done many revisions so I was looking for someone with more revision experience. I really like Dr. Alvarez and I am very excited. I will understand if he can't do it in one surgery but will be very disappointed. I want what is best for me physically. Thanks for your prayers and support!

Well I'm 3 days post op now...things are a little better. I can move more and I can finally get some gas out! Lol! Luckily no gas in my shoulders like when I had my band done. Still no pain meds, they proscribed me liquid lortab which I'm allergic to and it has made me throw up several times, which is not fun. Tried taking the anti nausea pills before but still no luck. Trying to get the doc to prescribe me the right pain meds but only a couple of pharmacies carry it. But I'm hanging in there, I can already tell how small my tummy is...it's crazy! But thank you for all your well wishes and I'll continue to keep y'all updated.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
