Small Portions At Restaurants

Recommended Posts

When I had my first meal out at a restaurant, I went to Salt Grass Steak House with my nieces. I order the child's size portion of baby back ribs & french fries. I could only eat 3 french fries & 1 baby rib. I was very upset. But as times goes on I got used/familiar with my sleeve now, i have no problem ordering off the kid's menu. more money in my pocket & i have left overs.

I've been out twice for dinner since being sleeved and it's been OK. On Saturday night I went to an Indian restaurant and just ordered an entree serve of chicken (would've been 2 thighs) and managed to only eat one thigh with about a tablespoon of lemon rice.

I went out again for dinner on Monday night and again ordered just an entree of lemon pepper calamari. I only managed maybe 3 calamari rings, 2 chips and 2 slices of cucumber from the salad.

I haven't yet attempted ordering off the kids menu, but from what they offered, it was crappy fried food anyway.

I'm going out again in a few weeks to an Italian restaurant which mainly deal with pizza...any suggestions appreciated as to what I can have. I was thinking thin crust vegetarian if they have it.

my dr gave me a card stating that I had bariatric surgery and could only consume 3oz at a time and to allow me to order a kids meal or a 1/2 size portion ... I went to red robin and red lobster.. both didn't even question me when I asked if it were possible to see a kids menu bc I have had surgery and they were like yeah no problem at all. I ended up splitting a meal with my friend both times and even at red lobster.. the waitress even asked if I wanted a small side salad bc my friend was getting one with her meal and she got me one at no charge.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
