Hi and yes I am. Hope to venture out for my sons hockey game tomorrow evening but we will see. Actually got in all my fluids and Protein today too. Quite a feat!

Yes-I met with the surgeon like the second week of December and got my surgery date. I was later scheduled for final blood work and EKG -3wks before, I had to schedule with my PCP for clearance -2wks and final weigh in pre op at -1 week. Basically put me back on south beach phase 1 till day before surgery where after Breakfast I switched to clear fluids. Not bad at all. And here u am today-4days post op and doing well I think!?!

Good luck and keep us posted.

Oh and good luck with all the insurance changes. That's gotta not help matters. Hopefully they'll leave it be until after your surgery!

Thank you for the welcome. I found out my date yesterday, I am both thrilled and scared. I do

feel with all the research I have been doing over the last few months has been very informative

and helps me know more what to expect. Has anyone been to ECMC for their surgery….how is it?

I had surgery May of 2014 at ECMC. It was a great experience. They were very accommodating, the nurses were wonderful and the rooms were gorgeous! My room was like a hotel room, private and huge! I was very satisfied!

I room shared with what I think was a frequent flyer to that floor. I wasn't in the hospital long enough though to really care. I got to my room maybe 130 Monday and was being wheeled out by 11am the next morning. I was determined not to be there any longer than possible and walked as soon as I got up the courage to move. But the stay on 15 was nice. They even let me sleep at night!!

They wouldn't send me home on pain meds, only liquid Tylenol. So my last dose was like at 4am. They let family stay and show up early too.

Sounds like you are getting those anxious feelings which are NORMAL!

Keep us posted!

Thank you for the info. I had checked out Sisters Hospital and then found out my doctor moved

to ECMC about a year ago.

@@Jenngf5

You too were in ECMC? Do you need to request a private room or do you just get what they have?

My doctor said I would get a script for pain meds when I was discharged and should get it filled.

ECMC was the only option for me as that is the only place my doctor does surgery. They used to be out of sisters, changed to ECMC. I have Dr. Cavaretta through Synergy. They built new suites, they are actually on the transplant floor. They were wonderful and private! They did give scripts for pain meds and heartburn etc, before you leave. I know everyone is different, I was not in a lot of pain. Only pain was the gas! I had pain meds at night just to sleep because the gas was so uncomfortable.

When did they call you to tell you the surgery date? Fidelis called me with approval for the 16th of Feb. On Friday. No word from the Dr office yet.

Keep me posted on how you are doing pre op with the diet? Are you doing just liquids?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
