Protein Shakes?

I am little over a week post-op and my doctor has told me I can have protein shakes now. YAY!!! However, I am having trouble finding one that I like. Any comments or suggestions would be helpful. Do you buy them already made? My dr has said find what I like, but try for the most protein and least amount of sugar. THANKS!!!!

I bought 100% whey protein from GNC..i got it in chocolate..then i made a shake with a scoop of that, skim milk and a scoop of carb smart no sugar added chocolate breyers ice cream...and i through it in a blender, it ends up being 30g of protein in a drink....you can do that in chocolate vanilla or strawberry..whichever you like and it doesnt taste to bad...and it give you half your protein.

That sounds really good and very easy....THANKS! I had bought some whey protein mix and used it with water....and that was next to impossible. I cried at first thinking that this was as good as it got! Haha!

GNC also makes a bottled shake called Lean Shake. Comes in Chocolate, Vanilla Bean and Strawberry. Goes down easy and has the required protein. Remember, you can't absorb more than 30 grams or so in one sitting.

Thanks! I will try those!

I had the same problem...I like CHIKE brand and they will send you samples. My favorites through them are the banana and the Orange Creme...but have them send you samples of all of them and see which you like best. I also find Bariatric Advantage chocolate to be good. I'm such a picky eater I had to find a couple that I could stomach. Good Luck to you.

Fresh n Easy has protein shakes at a 1.99 a can and 35grams each. They have a great taste and easy to drink..

flavors are chocolate, vanilla and cookies and cream... all good if real cold.. best of luck to you

I love Oh Yeah shakes and Pure Protein- 32 and 35 grams of protein (only 2 grams carbs). I get them at Vitamin Shoppe. They're expensive- about $3.00 each but in the beginning you're getting almost all your protein in with only 2 shakes a day that way.

Premier Protein is good too (BJ's, Costco)

I LOVE the Chike too, the banana is awesome :-)

isopure is my favorite thus far all the flavors taste like jolly ranchers to me... I ordered mine from GNC online.....& 40grams of protein per bottle!!

I'm too lazy to do the mix. Too messy, and just doesn't taste good to me. I get a few different ones to change things up. At my Costco, they have the Premier Protein shake. 30 g protein. They also have Muscle Milk Light which is 20 g and only 100 calories. I also like all of the Atkins shakes with 15 g protein. All of them are premixed and yummy. There are also some new protein gatorades. I think they are called recovery. 16 g of protein in 16 oz.
