  3. I will be 6 weeks post-op on Oct 4th. I can only eat maybe 1/2 cup. I too have struggled with the desire to eat more, I know it's all in my head. After eating my small amount I'm full and very satisfied. If I eat too much I'm totally miserable and my chest will hurt. I have to honestly admit, I miss eating more...but I wouldn't change a thing. I love my sleeve and will learn to train my brain and my mouth that I'm in control not them. LOL I'm enjoying life, in just a few weeks I've lost 35 pounds and a lot of inches. I'm proud to be on this journey and I'm sure you will too. Good luck to you and God Bless.
  4. I will be 6 weeks post-op Oct 4, 2012. I maybe get a 1/2 cup down. It is an adjustment, it's also all in my head that I need more. I'm full and totally satisfied but, my love for food and certain tastes gets the best of me at times! My mouth is saying MORE but my tummy says Nope! I'd never change it though! I love my sleeve! In six weeks I'm down 35 pounds and lots of inches. I feel like a new person! It is a change of life but so worth it! This new journey is a blessing! Good luck to you, may your experience be a great one!

  7. I too got to start puree/soft foods yesterday. 2 weeks out and feeling great!! My mind is rearing to go, but my body is like ssssslllllooooowwww down.!!! LOL I am enjoying cottage cheese, refried beans, mashed potatoes with cheese, tapioca pudding, anything that can go down easy. I can't even get 1/2 cup of much down though before my chest begins to hurt. I have lost almost 30 pounds since I began this journey... I LOVE MY SLEEVE!!! Good luck to everyone!!! This journey is exciting!!
  8. What a devastating blow! Oh, how I feel for you. I too have fatty liver weighing 228 before surgery. My surgeon required a 30 day liquid diet which consisted of daily: 5 Protein shakes, 2 Protein Bars and one Lean Cuisine, with 1 cup fruit and 2 cups veggies. That is what I was allowed to have per day for 30 days. After that 30 days, I had only lost 4 pounds but my surgeon went ahead with the Laparoscopic procedure 8-22-12. My tissues around my liver had improved and my liver had decreased and he said my surgery went wonderfully. I am now 2 weeks post-op, have lost 30 pounds and I'm feeling great. Finally got moved to Pureed/soft foods today!!! I haven't had any problems at all. I'm so glad I pressed forward. The 30 day diet wasn't easy but SO WORTH IT!!! I wish you the best of luck!! Don't give up it will be the best thing you ever did for yourself. Just buck up and drive on...you can do it and you won't regret it!!! God Bless YOU!!!
  9. I planned 2 weeks. I was sleeved 8-22-12 and I'm headed back to work 9-4-12. Half days if need be, will listen to my body! Everyone is different. Good luck to you!!!
  10. Well saw my surgeon today....I was sleeved on 8-22-12 was hoping to get to go to soft/smooth/puree foods but nope, one more week on Clear liquids and Protein shakes. On the positive side, at least I get something and the shakes fill me up! I get to start the soft foods next Thursday. Date of surgery I weighed in at 221 down to 200 today. Off all meds and good Blood pressure. Soon to be under 200 and it feels so good!!! People are noticing and commenting...I'm so excited for this new journey. Hope all is going well with everyone else...I have soft food ready and frozen for the day I get to indulge. Counting down!!! God Bless you all...I enjoy this forum and the information and suggestions I find here.
  11. I'm right there with you!!! I was sleeved on 8/22/12 and finally get to see my surgeon today!! I'm praying I get moved to puree/smooth/soft foods, I'm feeling so sluggish, in a fog and just ready to taste something. I too haven't been (hungry) per say but just needing more than liquids. You have done great!!! Keep up the pace and kudos to you!!! Good luck and God Bless!!!
  12. Prayers for a speeding recovery!! Good luck to you! God Bless you!!!
  13. I too was anxious up until I got rolled into the operating room. I was scared and second guessing my choices. When I awoke in recovery I felt alert and excited!! I was in no pain and I was talking and laughing and just totally relieved!!! I am 6 days Post-Op...I feel amazing!!! I slept in my bed for the first time last night since surgery and had a great nights rest! I'm still on Clear Liquids but healing well and haven't had ANY nausea!!! I'm not hungry so I've been content on liquids!! I'm down 25 pounds and my hubby is saying, "Babe you're looking good" what a sweet feeling that is!! I can't wait to see surgeon on Thursday, hoping I've healed enough to move to the soft/smooth/puree part of the plan. Good Luck to all of you, the soon to be sleevers, the new sleevers and the oldies!!! We are in this journey together and it's great to have somewhere to go and talk about our achievements and our bumps in the road!!!! God bless you ALL!!!
  14. You look great!!! Keep up the good work!!
  15. I'm 1 day post-op, I'm feeling awesome! No nausea , a little bit of gas. But I'm walking all the time, breathing on the peek-flo to clear my lungs out. I'm so happy with how I'm progressing!! Have keeped everything down. Water, diluted grape juice and diluted apple juice. Going to have Jello tonight!! Sip. Sip. Sip And walk, walk, walk!! Keeps your lungs clear and it's refreshing!. I have been having slight headaches from the morphine but nothing Tylenol Elxir can't handle!! I hope it all continues!!! God bless all of you on the journey!

  19. My surgery is Wednesday morning at 6am. I'm excited but find myself freaking out!! Am I doing the right thing? Will I fail with this too? Will the pain kill me? Oh my mind won't stop with worry!?!!! I know I want this, I know I'll be ok! I'm just scared!!!! I have faith all will be well!!! Why am I so nervous?!?! I've finally made it through the 30 day Pre-op diet, tomorrow only clear liquids and bowel prep! Then it's MY day!! 8-22-12 will forever be the date of my new journey! I wish everyone else a safe and successful journey! God Bless!
  20. I am a very picky eater and had a horrible time finding a Protein shake I could get down. My very very favorite is Banana from CHIKE. http://www.chikenutrition.com/ has 28grams of protein. Chike chocolate and Orange Cream aren't bad either. I can also stomach the Chocolate from Bariatric Advantage and it has 27 grams a protein. I will have to try some of the shakes mentioned above. I wish you luck on your new journey!!!
  21. Good Luck on your Journey!!! My surgery is this Wednesday the 22nd of September!! I had a 30 day pre-op diet and I'm glad it's about over! LOL God Bless you!!!!
