I second this question. I've never heard of staples that have to be removed with a VSG.

The staples are titanium and they are permanent.

If they remove the staples your food would float around in there! LOL

My surgeon use staples on your abdomen.

Are you having open surgery or laparascopic?

My surgeon use staples on your abdomen.

My mom has had other abdominal surgery more than once and prefers staples to sutures as they come out easier.

It sounds like his surgeon is not doing the surgery laposcopically (sp) so he will have one big incision.

Maybe nobody understands what I'm asking or talking about. My surgeon puts like 6 holes in your stomach and does the surgery life everyone else does. Don't they have to seal up those holes somehow?

Hi there. I had mine done laparoscopically and they did use staples to suture the incisions. It was a little painful when they were removed but I was able to talk through it. Some people have almost no pain. I guess I'm a baby.

My incisions were dermabonded and stitched from the inside with the exception of where the drain was. I just kept band aids on them until they completely healed =) Hope that helps!
