July 27, 201213 yr ? there are no staples to remove I second this question. I've never heard of staples that have to be removed with a VSG.
July 27, 201213 yr My surgeon use staples on your abdomen. My mom has had other abdominal surgery more than once and prefers staples to sutures as they come out easier.
July 27, 201213 yr It sounds like his surgeon is not doing the surgery laposcopically (sp) so he will have one big incision.
July 27, 201213 yr Author Maybe nobody understands what I'm asking or talking about. My surgeon puts like 6 holes in your stomach and does the surgery life everyone else does. Don't they have to seal up those holes somehow?
July 27, 201213 yr Hi there. I had mine done laparoscopically and they did use staples to suture the incisions. It was a little painful when they were removed but I was able to talk through it. Some people have almost no pain. I guess I'm a baby.
July 27, 201213 yr My incisions were dermabonded and stitched from the inside with the exception of where the drain was. I just kept band aids on them until they completely healed =) Hope that helps!
July 27, 201213 yr Author Thanks drewmon, that was very helpful. I have my surgery this Tuesday (31st).
How much pain is there if any when they remove the staples from your stomach?
